Borders Sony Touch Give-Away

1sony

***This giveaway has expanded to ALL ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS, not just the deployed!***

I am teaming up with Borders Booksellers and Sony to deliver a Sony Touch Reader Digital Book to an active duty member of the military this Valentine’s Day!

Spouses of active duty service member can enter to win a Sony Touch Reader Digital Book for their service member.   The digital readers have become increasingly popular among the military over the last few years due to the fact that one can purchase books directly from your computer, store, and read hundreds of books on this ultra-thin device.

Once the Sony Touch is delivered, he or she can access best-sellers and new releases, or choose from over one million free public domain titles from Google. You can read my full review of it here.

I am so thankful for Borders generous gift, valued at $300, to show gratitude for all that our military men and women do for us each day.  It provides an opportunity to escape from the day-to-day of wartime and military life and slip into the fantasy of a book!

Well, what are you waiting for?!

This giveaway is intended for U.S. military service members. Spouses may enter for their service member.

The give-away begins Monday, January 04, and ends on January 25. The winner will be announced on January 26, and Sony Touch Reader Digital Book will be sent at the end of the month to the recipient’s APO address overseas or stateside.

Yes, this will definately change the way I shop for books. I won’t be buying books all the time, and then having to get rid of them because they are too heavy to pcs with. I love books, my husband loves books, and we would LOVE to be able to read more, and not have our hands hurt at the same time (hello Harry Potter, lol).

yes, I think this will allow me/my husband to buy more books. Too often I am reading a blog or something else and hear about a book I’d love to read but forget about it by the time I get to a book store. This would give me the opportunity to go straight to the borders and purchase it right away. Plus if the books are cheaper then I am more likely to buy even more! and just from a specific store (Boarders) instead of going to any random store.

E-books will absolutely change the way I shop for books! As a military family we really can’t purchase many books because we have to move so often that accumulating a large library isn’t really feasible. Having access to e-books would allow us to not only buy the books we want, but take them anywhere with us as well!

Thank you so much for the chance to win the sony e-book! My husband is active duty and is preparing to deploy here very soon. This would definitely change the way we buy books…He was just telling me how he can’t take many -or none at all- books with him because of the weight requirements when he deploys. Having the sony reader would be a blessing to have so he can brush up on his work, and read anything he wants when he is away.

Having a reader would change the way we shopped for books. The ease and portability it would provide would be amazing!

This would definitely change our way of reading in our home. My husband is a total nerd, he buys text books to read for pleasure! It has been “fun” sending him and ordering him new science/math/physics/astronomy text books. I have been considering this form of book for him while he is deployed so he doesnt have to worry about storing all these books over there! Even back here at home in our apartment, we have an entire closet full of books that could be used for clothes instead…
