You know, I really enjoying this Friday Fails series. For every “Oops, my bad,” there is a blog post just waiting to be written.

This week I was downgraded to first mate and my pregnancy hormones became the captain of my ship. Here’s a glance into that world.

<img src="http://clickclackmom.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/forwomenonly-234x300.jpg"alt="" title="forwomenonly" width="234" height="300" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1253" />

1. This week I have been devouring Shaunti Feldhahn’s book, “For Women Only.” I am SHOCKED by how little I know about men. SHOCKED! While reading, I brought up different chapters to my husband and he affirmed much of what the book had to say. Until I got to chapter titled, “Keeper of the visual Rolodex: Why it’s so natural for him to look and so hard to forget what he’s seen.”

Let’s just say, when I heard that men are visual, I always thought, “Okay, then you need to make pie charts, graphs, power point presentations or use pictures for them to fully understand something.” I won’t go into all the details, but friends, that is not really what it means.

Although I wanted to discuss this further; dive deep into my husband’s brain, he was not so interested in having this kind of conversation several thousand miles away.

Since “captain hormones” wanted to steer this ship, I ended up crying three separate times on the phone. Not good.

2. My dog is currently on medication that requires tons of extra water. Subsequently, I have to let her out ALL THE TIME! Yesterday, a couple hours passed without letting her out and she relieved herself all over my kitchen floor while I was out of the room.

When I walked down the stairs, I had just given Jackson a bath because he had an accident, then couldn’t go down for a nap. So I am sadly walking into the room knowing that I won’t get my coveted break today, when I let Jackson down in the kitchen and see him RUNNING towards Juno’s accident.

I SWOOP him up and into his high chair. Then I let Juno outside.

And before cleaning up the mess, I just cried at my kitchen table. Again, not good.

There is nothing like pregnancy hormones to make you feel **crazy** and that your world is falling apart. When I discussed this with my OB yesterday, she said, “Yeah, this is going to happen until you go into labor. Just be sure not to watch the Lifetime Network!” Ha!

So yes, two failures to react to situations in a normal, sensible way!
I have so enjoyed reading Friday Fails on other blogs, but this is my first Friday Fail. It’s pretty much a week round-up of my missteps. I’ll begin with the worst ones!

1. Several weeks ago I decided to give up sweets or desserts until Easter. This has given me plenty of time to look at a food item and redetermine if it’s really a sweet. Let me explain. While at the deli on Monday, I determined that I should buy some biscotti because it would be a nice alternative for sweets. You don’t have biscotti for dessert, you have it with coffee, right? Well, when I arrived home it became clear to me that the biscotti was dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with toffee. Yet my earlier claim remains, I wouldn’t have it for dessert, so it’s okay. I know, I know, Homer Simpson logic!

2. Since my husband is deployed, and I am the only one watching our child, I have been tired. So tired in fact, that each day this week, I have gotten dangerously close to the caffeine limit that is acceptable for pregnant women. I’m actually sipping half decaf coffee right now:) Not good.

3. My maternity jeans are getting very close to not fitting. Just think about that for a second. NOT GOOD!!!

This was fun! What are some of your “fails” from the week? Share, it’s really pretty fun!
