Two and We’re Through?

Newborns may be more addictive than tattoos. Now, I don’t have any tattoos, but I hear they are hard to stop once you get started.

For the first month of Hannah’s life, I thought of interesting arguments to present to my husband for having more children. We have two, but why not three? Or four?

It was too much to cuddle with this perfect baby and know that it might not happen again.

I might forget the eyes-squeezed-shut-turtle-head-bob. The surprising feeling of her hand pressing against my ribs as I am nursing. Or the melodies floating down the hallway from her mobile.

It was too much for me.

But over the past couple weeks, our family of four feels complete. Children have brought so much joy into our home, but they don’t have to be under 10 pounds to provide it. Breastfeeding, being home with my chicks, and wearing my baby console me during the times that I don’t want another second to pass.

Right now I have four carriers for wearing Hannah. A beautiful sling, a Baby Bjorn, a Moby, and the Infantino EcoSash. A girl’s gotta have options, right?

As an Infantino “Test Drive” Mom, I was recently given the EcoSash Wrap and Tie model to use and review. This particular model requires the baby be at least eight pounds, so Hannah has only been able to use it for the past few days.

After wearing her with the EcoSash carrier, here are my thoughts:

Advantages:

1. I Love the mix of firm construction and ties. It is a mixture of a Baby Bjorn and a Moby.
2. The material is very comfortable and soft.
3. The look is very stylish, which you can see in the pictures.
4. You can wear it on the front (baby facing either direction) or on your back.
5. The shoulder straps are thinly padded.
6. This carrier would be ideal if you needed to wear your baby for a long time.
7. It has a snap-on hood!

Drawbacks:

1. If you have multiple children, it would be time-consuming to put it on to do something quick, like go grocery shopping.
2. Because of the ties, it is kind-of bulky and takes up a bit of the diaper bag. This is true of most carriers I have, except the sling.
3. It would be even better for a bigger baby. I am looking forward to using it a lot more when Hannah gets a little bigger.
4. I don’t like having ties in the front and back. It’s hard to feel discreet with two knots.

To see their complete line, visit their blog. Babies R US is offering $10 off the EcoSash and Balance carriers until Sept. 21.

The lovely folks at Infantino even threw in an awesome Firefly Soother for me to put in Miss Hannah’s crib. The fireflies light up and play sweet music, which will be perfect when she starts sleeping in her crib. (Right now she is sleeping in the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper that attaches to our bed.)

Let me know if you have questions about this carrier or soother. And I’ll keep you posted on my ability to keep away from my new addiction:)

I am a participatng in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products as a part of my participation.
