Now I might not be Stella–vacationing in the Caribbean and finding a love half her age–but I have felt like I am getting back to my old self again. Can I get a WOOT WOOT?!
Looking back, the past month seems like a total haze. When my mom boarded her flight, less than a week after my husband left, my house felt empty. I felt a lot of anxiety about my ability to care for two children by myself. Sure women do it all the time, but that doesn’t make it any easier!
For the first few days, it seemed as if one child was always very dissatisfied with me. Running upstairs to change Hannah’s diaper, Jackson would start screaming in his high chair because his dinner had been interrupted. And on and on…You get the idea.
I decided the kids (and probably me too!!!) would benefit from a stronger routine. If I could map out our days in advance, it would provide more structure and excitement. My goal is to get us out of the house in the mornings, either to run errands or something fun like the botanical gardens. In the afternoons, I am attempting to spend as much time outside or doing something to burn off some steam. (Read: I am trying to exhaust my toddler, while not over-heating my newborn:)
Here are some pictures from the past few days.
I feel really blessed!!
In other news–I will try to check in a bit more often now that things are settling down. There are several things I can’t wait to share with you–specifically a new under eye cream that is ROCKING MY WORLD! Details to follow later this week.
