Sharing Good News

One of the most exciting roles I’ve had in my husband’s deployment is: The One Who Gets to Announce All Good News with Our Child! Little developments are dessert to new parents like us.

Today I reported that Jackson is now big enough to walk beside me (holding hands) as we walk to his Mother’s Morning Out program from the parking lot. And the person on the other end of the phone not only thinks it’s “cute,” but almost magical!

“Really, he can walk beside you?!” my husband exclaims into the phone.

“Yes, and we talk about all the things we see, like grass, minivans and oversized air conditioning systems,” I say.

My heart beams knowing I get to share each piece of good news. My role is not limited to storytelling over the phone… which is why I snap pictures ALLDAYLONG.

This pic was taken to show off Jackson's new sandals.

J refused to eat breakfast until he could hug Mr. Bear.

Just hanging out in his diaper!

It is also true that I send my husband videos almost daily. And who wouldn’t want this waiting for you in your inbox?

Yes, I am the loving press secretary of my own home and it is a job I am grateful to have.

He’s a lucky hubby! I’m sure it kills him to have to miss so much of Jackson’s life, but knowing he can *see* and hear about all the new happenings from you I’m sure makes it better.
