Must Haves–Beating Morning Sickness

Over the past few weeks, you may have noticed my blog has been a little bit more quiet than normal.  Some of it was the busy holiday season, full of traveling and long to-do lists, but mainly I just haven’t felt very well.  I am nearing the second trimester (Thank you, God!!!), but for weeks I have felt just nauseous.

And when I feel sick, I eat, a lot.  Ha!  So I am trying to find an alternative so that I don’t gain all of the pregnancy weight during the first 20 weeks!  In an effort to feel better (and enjoy this pregnancy), I am doing some of the healthy things that have always made me feel great.

(Shhh…Now I’m sharing them with you. Here are some of my tricks for beating morning sickness. Hint: You don’t have to be pregnant to try these things.  They will make anyone feel terrific.)

1. Powdered greens with 6 ounces of Cranberry juice

I shake them up with this:

I love it because the effects can be felt very quickly! It is also a great way to help you reach the 5-9 servings of fruit and vegetables every day.

2. Quick Kundalini Yoga Practice

This DVD is absolutely outstanding!  I have been trying to do at least 20 minutes of Kundalini yoga to help my lympathic system.  If you are pressed for time, simply do the “Start Your Engines” section.

3. Juicing

With my juicer, I combine spinach, half a lemon, romaine lettuce and an apple.  The enzymes found in this mixture make you feel like a million dollars.  It can become a little pricey if you want to do it every day, and you may not love the taste.

That’s how I am keeping my head from spinning and my hands off of cheeseburgers and gummy bears:)  What did you do to beat morning sickness?
