In just a few short weeks I am going to my very first blogging conference, Blissdom. My interest in conferences started last year when I kept seeing Blogher conference ads, then all the stories that followed!
In one place you can meet friends with the same interests, your blogging role models, and (of course) learn how to do this a little better. It is true, though, that when I tell friends who aren’t into blogging that I’m going to this conference, they react more strangely than if I said I were going to a Star Trek convention!
My excitement level is escalating each day as it gets closer. (Insert a large amount of gratitude to my husband who thought this was a great idea and worthy expense!)
I signed up without knowing how it was going to happen. My biggest concern was this pesky little thing called…motherhood:) What could I do with Jackson if childcare weren’t provided?? I considered every option and finally called my sweet sister and asked her to keep him while I was gone. It was the biggest answered prayer when she easily said YES (!!!) and now I get to spend a few days with my big sis before heading to Nashville. It will be my first night away from him, then add two more nights! My sister has two children, so I’m know he will have a great time.
Now I get to have fun thinking about the details. Like…Dresses! I picked out a couple dresses for cocktail parties. Who knew they actually made maternity cocktail dresses! Ha! Here are two that I bought in Raleigh on Saturday, but I MAY take one back. Let me know what you think.
Next on my list: business cards and attire for the conference. Of course a million other things will pop up between now and then!! Have you been to a blogging conference before? Any tips or suggestions? Looking forward to any advice!

I love your dresses!! You are going to have a great time-No worries, Jackson is in good hand!!
Amy,
Your mom is so excited about the girls all getting together at Hannah’s. I like the all black dress. You can dress it up with jewelry or scarves, or put a tee underneath, or blazer on top. A hat would be cute too! Have a great time! Nancy
LOVE the dresses! Have a great time!
PS: I gave u a little ‘shout out’ on my blog yesterday. Thanks for being a great bloggy-friend!
I think those dresses are adorable. And they should be fine. If you’re afraid of feeling overdressed, wear flat shoes and casual jewelry?? And you may want a cardigan. It can be chilly. Look forward to meeting you!
Also, I highly recommend Overnight Prints for business cards. Very nice quality.
I love the first dress, it’s gorgeous!! Have fun at Blissdom.
