Big News!!

Hi Friends!  I just can’t wait another second to spill my news!!  I have kept my lips sealed for the past few weeks, and thought I could keep them shut for just a few more weeks…but I want to share now:)

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, my husband and I were thrilled to learn that we are expecting a second baby!  We really couldn’t be happier about the whole thing.  In fact, we have been trying and praying over this for months, which is hard to believe because Jackson hasn’t turned one yet!

We want two children and we want them close together, so it’s perfect for us.  Jackson will be 18 months old when the baby is born.  I just wanted to tell my readers about it sooner rather than later. Morning sickness has hit me, but I feel it throughout the day, not just the morning.  Hopefully this will last a few more weeks, and the second trimester energy will come pouring in.

So…you want to know what I’m thinking…

1. Wow–labor was tough; I didn’t forget it or the pain.  Do I really have to go through all that again?! (I did not have an epidural with Jackson, but I’m undecided on the next one.)

2.  I’ve seen 18-month-olds and it’s hard to imagine containing one with a  newborn.  My daily mantra–plenty of mothers do this all the time!

3. My husband’s schedule has changed so much and so quickly this year, we just don’t know if he’ll be around for the birth.

4.  Uh oh–we have A LOT to buy before the second baby arrives, but this time we won’t have my income to save for the baby’s budget.  Time to get creative!

5.  I just got back down to my pre-baby weight, and I’ve already started gaining weight again.  Moderation and self control–please find me!

So, it’s finally off my chest!  Now I can share more of what’s really going on in my world. I will keep you posted and probably show a few pics!

XOXO, Amy

Thanks Jessi! Do you remember that I kept saying, “Well I think I’m pregnant,” a couple weeks before I could test?! Well, I definitely did NOT feel pregnant with this one until a week after the test revealed it was positive. So let’s just say that the baby had a little TOO MUCH COFFEE when he/she was just a few days old and mom had no clue. Imagine that!!

Oh yes, I do remember how anxious you were last time around! It seems just like yesterday to me that you got the news :) Hopefully you didn’t drown the baby with all the Starbucks you had!!

Hey Amy! I don’t know if you remember me. I’m the sister of Ashlee Bennett, your sister hannah’s friend. Ashlee told me about your website, and I’ve been reading for a couple of months now….Sorry I haven’t commented until now. I have a baby girl, Addison, that’s probably just a a month younger than Jackson.

All that said, congrats on your pregnancy! Such exciting times. Little Jackson is precious by the way! Hope your family has a Merry Christmas!

Congratulations! You are right about the mother’s mantra… other people have survived! My first two are 18 months apart and you, too, will survive!
