Recently John and I went to Chilis for lunch and ended up in a fierce game of what our pediatrician calls “fishing.”
Quick recap:
- Jackson reaches out for a toy.
- He is not satisfied until toy is firmly lodged in his mouth.
- Jackson throws toy on the floor.
- Then smiles and giggles
- Fun time over!
- Mom picks up toy; cleans it. (Jackson tries to eat the edge of the table while he’s waiting for mom.)
- Repeat until mom is blue in the face, oh wait, why stop there:)
Our idea to go out for something relaxing and fun, turned out to be, well, a little less than relaxing! My husband suggested that we purchase a “toy clip” so we could end this game for good.
After lunch we went to “Babies R Us” to locate such a clip, but we couldn’t find one on the shelves and the staff seemed puzzled by our request. My husband is a natural-born problem-solver and came up with this handy solution.
Pacifier clip

Plus teething toy

Equals

A toy that you don’t have to pick up! You may have your sanity for a few more moments! Both the pacifier clip and toy were around $4 a piece, and you could really use any small toy.
Have you tried this or other similar ideas? I would love to hear them!

Amy, I just started making a version of these! I’ve been calling it a “cup leash” because that is what I originally started making them for but they are also perfect for toys. They fit around the cup and loop through and attach to a stroller or high chair. I don’t have any on my website yet, but I will have them at the Yule Mart! Too funny….you guys are so innovative!
