Recently I posted on Facebook that I needed to find some great new jeans, and I needed some help from my friends.
Full disclosure: I have been buying American Eagle jeans since high school, which was a long time ago. Now I feel too old to even walk through the doors at American Eagle, so this momma needed some new jeans and a new place to buy them.
One caveat—they can’t be skinny! I know skinny jeans are EVERYWHERE right now, but let’s face it, if you are short (5’2 short!) and a size 4—they just don’t look right. Or at least they don’t look right on me.
Oops! Back to my story. Sooo…I took every single suggestion that my friends posted. Any store that was listed, I tried on at least two or three pairs of jeans from that store.
Nothing worked. Nothing!!
Later my sister-in-law, Megan of PIPM, suggested that I sample jeans from the Gap. Of course I should have just asked her first, because as soon as they were slipped on, I quickly found my perfect pair of jeans.
After trying on many different styles, I purchased the “Perfect Boot” fit. Ladies, they are DE-LIC-IOUS!! I seriously don’t want to take them off. The color is a dark blue, which is also very slimming. (I.e. they make your backside look fantastic!!)

I also love them because they sit just perfect on my hips, so they don’t look like those geeky (high-rise mom) jeans and they are not the super-low-rise (yikes we didn’t want to see al THAT jeans)!
They rest at the exact right spot, which means they also trim the look of your thighs. Since I have a pear-shaped figure, this is perfect for me! Oh, I wear a petite size (which they list as ‘a’ for ankle in the store) and they are a great length, especially since I have been noticing short and petite pants getting longer these days.

They were $69.50, plus tax, and worth every penny. (Just in case you’re wondering—I have not been paid or in any way compensated by the Gap to review this product. I went to the mall and forked over the cash like everyone else.)
So there you have it. If you are looking for an awesome pair of jeans that are simply flattering, I would definitely recommend checking these out.
Have you found a “must have” recently? Do tell!

I’m so glad you found some that worked for you! I miss you and little Jackson- you all should come visit Memphis during your extended vacay up north
Hey Megan!
Yes! We definitely need to make our way to Memphis!! It is so cute, every night in our little prayers with Jackson we say thank you for “Uncle Rob and Aunt Megan, and please keep them safe and happy”:)
And…I LOVE MY NEW JEANS!!!
Thank you for your help!
XOXO,
Amy
Thanks for sharing!!! I am totally with you on finding a pair of jeans that aren’t high waist “mom jeans” and also aren’t too low rise to show anything when you bend down! :>)
I am not short and def not a size 4
but maybe they will work for me!
Heid, I bet they will work for you. They are awesome. I am too embarrassed to confess how many days I wore them last week:)
Yes! I have those exact jeans too! (four pairs in different washes, actually
A little tip: at our Gap they gave me a punch card that is good for a year, each time you buy a pair of jeans (mens, womens, kids, whatever) they will punch your little card, and when you have bought 3 pairs you get a fourth free! Not sure if this is at all gaps, but it might definitely save you $70-ish!
Thanks Glamorous Newlywed! That is a great tip! I’ll definitely have to look into that punch card. It would give me a reason to buy more:)
Oh, I am totally with you on the Pink movie that bashes President Bush. She needs to move on! And in Texas…Well, that’s just TACKY!
Love those jeans and they last forever. I still have a pair from high school and that was….a long time ago. Enjoy!
Thanks Katie,
I can tell I am going to get MANY uses out of these!!
